Yosemite Home Decor Demtera Rough Cut Round Vessel Sink
Description
Yosemite Home Decor’s stone basins are hand carved from a single piece of natural stone. Every segment of stone has its own unique individuality that reflects the art work of its creator. Most of Yosemite stone basins have been named after the Celtic descendants. The Celtic people originated 3,400 years ago in Central Europe. The Celtics have a history full of enchanting tales and stories of survival. These people did not have machines to carve essentials for livelihood (such as a bowl). They used a hammer and chisel with precise strikes to the stone to form its shape. Yosemite has adopted this tradition of shaping each basin.
Although, we do use some modern day tools (small diamond saws and hand held polishing tools), most of the carving is done by hand. Since we do carve the natural stone by hand, our products will have small variations in size and shape. It is these variations that give the stone its natural beauty and that make it a distinctive show piece in your home. Mother earth is filled with breathtaking colors and patterns, and you will most likely experience the beautiful variations of earth in our stone products. Like the Celtic’s thousands of years ago, you too might experience veining, minor pitting, and areas of intensified coloration. You may see elements of silver, gold, copper, brown, and many more of earth’s colors running through the stone.
